Up to -2 kg (4 lbs) on really uneven tiles

Wow that's quite extreme. Then again the 2 tile spots I picked were 1ft apart and (visibly) very even. So if that gives you a whole pound..

Do you get consistent weight measurements when you move the scale to a different location? I really don't. I'm thinking about buying a flat surface (machine shop granite), also useful for many other things.

Interesting, I haven't tried that. What sort of discrepancy are you seeing?

Garmin Index S2, but also Polar scales

So I just tried it, and just moving the scale 1ft made a 1lb difference. Could be a different angle?

I already posted this on the previous post but got no response. (if you saw it already please feel free to ignore it.

Is it possible the active ingrediant in your weight loss is MCT's. The way you describe it (high energy, low bloating, and almost instant satiety) sounds pretty similiar to the description of the effect of MCT's. I can't find the exact amount of MCT in whipped cream. But if I had to guess your getting significalty more MCT's then any one has ever studied.

You could probably test this hypothesis by just buying some pure MCT and seeing if get cement truck satiety from it.

Note that there aren't enough studies on these proccess to even be certain MCT's cause weight loss. It's just the description sounds similiar so I mentioned it.

I used MCT oil in bullet proof coffee before, and while I enjoyed it, it didn't give me any special satiety or fat loss effects.

I think the lack of bloating is just from super low fiber (<3g/day) and protein. Those are the 2 things that tend to digest for a long time.

Aren't MCTs mostly in coconut oil? I wasn't aware heavy cream contained them.

First google result: "Full-fat dairy such as extra heavy whipping cream and palm oil are two more examples of medium-chain triglyceride whole food sources."

Interesting, they seem to make up around 11% of dairy fat! I hadn't put this together because the wiki page on butterfat calls them "lower saturated" and not MCTs. But yea, in that case it seems I've been getting 50g per day. Which is.. quite a lot, I think?

Remind me why you don’t like the “smart” scales with electric impedance to estimate fat %? I find that fat mass (weight * fat %) is pretty stable from day to day relative to weight alone, which swings with salt and carb consumption from prior 48 hours, ie water weight.

Basically, I've heard that they're super inaccurate. But tbh haven't really tried.

Just thought I would throw in here that Huberman and Jeff Cavaliere both recommend the old fashioned bathroom scale that has a real spring in it. That way you can pick it up and squeeze it in the morning to test your level of recovery instead of investing in a grip dynamator, or whatever it's called.

Huh, is grip strength a proxy for workout recovery? I didn't know that.

Only first thing in the morning, right as you wake up. I've forgotten why this is, but there's a surprising range of how well your hands will obey you immediately after waking.
