FWIW, I personally did v. well on basically a ribeye a day — per USDA numbers, 500g cut has roughly 100g protein, 100gm fat… so 400 calories protein, 900 calories fat.

Yea grams vs calories is always tricky haha. 50/50 by weight you're probably right - since the "lean" is mostly water and fat has 9carolies v.s 4 in brotien, you end up much higher.
Did you eat anything besides the ribeye? That's only 1,300kcal, which is about 1/3 of my TEE. I would have to eat 2.5-3 ribeyes unless I supplemented somehow, e.g. with butter/cream.
